Vincent Debut, researcher of C2TN, is involved in a prize winning collaborative project: "Singing bronze: material sciences and acoustic engineering advanced techniques toward the preservation of the Mafra carillon bells". Most cited article in the last two years of the "Physica Scripta journal"
The article "Surface analysis of tiles and samples exposed to the first JET campaigns with the ITER-like wall", JP Coad, E. Alves, NP Barradas, A. Baron-Wiechec, N. Catarino, K. Heinola, J. Likonen, M. Mayer, GF Matthews, P. Petersson, A. Widdowson, Physica Scripta T159 (2014) 014012, co-authored by C2TN members, is one of the most cited articles in the last two years of the prestigious Physica Scripta journal, published by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences.

João Carlos Bentes Waerenborgh, researcher of C2TN of Instituto Superior Técnico, Universidade de Lisboa, was elected member representative of Portugal in the International Board on the Applications of the Mössbauer Effect (IBAME), by the active Mössbauer spectroscopists in Portugal. As defined in its constitution the objectives of IBAME are to advance the diffusion of knowledge in the field of the Mössbauer Effect and its applications, to promote the activities of the international community in this interdisciplinary field of basic and applied research, to attempt the harmonization of venues and dates of the various international and continental Mössbauer conferences in order to avoid duplications, and to encourage the participation of young research workers and research workers of weak resource countries. Furthermore IBAME elaborates recommendations for the nomenclature to be used in publications on results achieved by using Mössbauer spectroscopy.
