Next 21st November, it will be held at CTN campus a workshop about Defense and Security. This workshop is organized by C2TN and Plataforma de Nanotecnologia e Materials from IST.
National dose reference levels (DRLs) in radiodiagnostic medicine, interventional radiology and nuclear medicine are essencial in improving medical practice, in lowering the exposure of the population to ionising radiation, and are a legal requisite in most countries, including Portugal. The NRD project, which involves several institutions, including C2TN, ESTES-C, the Direcção Geral de Saúde, and the Portuguese Society of Physics aims to set the national DRLs for Portugal for the first time, by conduction nationwide surveys following internationally recognised standards. The obtained DRLs reflect nationwide practices, equipment technology and promote their optimization.
Next 7th December, it will be held at Escola Superior de Tecnologia da Saúde de Coimbra the Workshop NRD Portugal devoted to National dose reference levels.

1st Summer School of C2TN (CARISMA)
CARISMA will focus on the Sciences and Applications of Ionizing Radiation in Health, Materials and Environment. This Summer School will address the applications of nuclear technologies and ionizing radiation in areas of high scientific, technological and societal relevance. In addition to the training component in the classroom, this School invests mainly in the experimental aspect through practical demonstrations and small works in the laboratories operated by the Researchers of this Research Unit.

European Radiation Protection Week 2020 (ERPW 2020)

The ERPW meeting series, which was initiated in 2016 in Oxford, builds on and extends the MELODI workshops and aims at integrating the European research on radiation protection demonstrated by the CONCERT European Joint Programme. Following the ERPW 2016 in Oxford, meetings were held in 2017 in Paris, in 2018 in Rovinj and 2019 in Stockholm.

This edition will benefit from a special session on Urban Air Quality Management organized by the LIFE Index-Air project. RICTA is an annually meeting that brings together Spanish and Portuguese groups active in aerosol research, as well as researchers from many other countries. During 3 days, experts will have the opportunity to network, find new and longstanding collaborations, exchange ideas, create novel ones, and be inspired by top-level keynote lectures, to further improve the field of aerosol research. The program will combine multi-disciplinarity with the highest scientific quality. As in the previous editions (Évora 2013, Tarragona 2014, Elche 2015, Aveiro 2016, Barcelona 2017 and Bilbao 2018) the participation of young researchers is especially encouraged.

Several institutions and international organizations will be co-sponsoring ICDA-3. Besides the Conference sessions, tutorial and refresher courses will be organized. A selection of papers will be published as Conference Proceedings in the journal Radiation Physics and Chemistry.

EURADOS is the biggest dosimetry association in Europe. About 300 participants from all over Europe will be present so this will be an excellent networking opportunity to those of you who wish to participate. A Winter School dedicated to 'Application of physical and computational phantoms in dose assessment' will also take place on the 8th of February, which could be an opportunity for students, young researchers, or others to learn about the state-of-the-art in this area.
