C²TN Academy – Centro de Ciências e Tecnologias Nucleares is hosting the first seminar of the year, as part of the thematic line “Radiopharmaceutical Sciences and Health Physics”, focusing on the contribution of Inorganic Chemistry to advances in Nuclear Medicine.

The session is titled “To Each Metal, Its Chelator: Inorganic Chemistry at the Service of Nuclear Medicine”, and will feature Erika Ferrari, Associate Professor of Inorganic Chemistry at Università degli Studi di Modena e Reggio Emilia (Italy) and head of the Medicinal Inorganic Chemistry (MIC-MORE) research group. Her research focuses on the development of metal-based systems for therapeutic and diagnostic applications.

The seminar will address the rational design of metal chelators and their impact on the development of gallium- and copper-based radiopharmaceuticals, with particular emphasis on stability, radiolabelling efficiency and biological performance.
