C2TN is part of a European project that will identify measures to reduce transport-related air pollution

The kick-off meeting of the Horizon Europe project “MI-TRAP – MItigating TRansport-related Air Pollution in Europe” convened at the National Center for Scientific Research (NCSR) Demokritos in Athens, marking a significant step towards tackling the pressing issues of urban air and noise pollution. The project, spanning four years, aims to address emissions from air, maritime and road transportation, with a primary focus on fostering sustainable solutions to mitigate the adverse impacts on public health.

With a consortium comprising 26 partners hailing from 10 different countries, MI-TRAP brings together a diverse range of expertise and resources to confront the multifaceted challenges posed by urban pollution. By leveraging collective knowledge and collaboration, the project endeavors to develop innovative strategies and technologies aimed at curbing emissions and improving air and noise quality in urban environments.

As cities continue to grapple with the complex challenges posed by pollution, initiatives like MI-TRAP and other projects developed by researchers from C2TN underscore the importance of international cooperation and interdisciplinary research in achieving sustainable urban development. By harnessing collective expertise and resources, the project aspires to pave the way for cleaner, healthier, and more livable urban environments for present and future generations.
