A researcher working at C2TN has been awarded a contract in the 2018 Individual Scientific Employment Stimulus Competition (CEEC), which is the second edition of this call promoted by the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (FCT) for doctoral researchers in all scientific areas. The results announced by FCT indicate that 3631 applications were evaluated by 25 international panels. The C2TN researcher is part of the 8.3% of the selected candidates in this edition of the competition.
Vânia Martins was awarded a Junior Researcher position. She was ranked 2nd on the “Environmental Biotechnology and Engineering, Industrial Biotechnology and Other Engineering and Technologies” Evaluation Panel with a final score of 9.7 out of 10. Vânia Martins will develop the research Project entitled “Air quality sensing for fostering sustainable mobility in urban areas” aiming to obtain real-time air pollution distribution in urban areas and identify sustainable mobility strategies to reduce the health impacts of pollutants exposure. The project results will impact not only on the wellbeing of the population but also on the direct (medicine, physician, medical tests and hospitalization) and indirect (loss of wages due to illness) costs associated with health.
