During the 7th Southeast Asia Conference on Thermoelectrics (SACT2022), held in Thailand, from 7th to 8th December 2022, the C2TN PhD student Rodrigo Coelho won the Best Oral Presentation award for the contribution entitled “Tethahedrite Based Thermoelectric Generators: Study and Characterization of Electrical Contacts”.

2022 Armed Forces Award

Major Luís Marques, member of C2TN and PhD student at IST, received the  Armed Forces Innovation Award 2022 with the work Gamma radiation detection system, beta particles and neutrons coupled to a multirotor for inspection of maritime containers and detection, location and identification of radioactive sources and materials.

The Armed Forces Innovation Award aims to promote innovation, improve capabilities and planning, following the evolution of research and development activities in the area of ​​military sciences and defence technologies and, at the same time, promote a closer connection between the Armed Forces, the industry and the academic community.

This year the award was dedicated to "Autonomous Systems", including air, land, surface or submersible maritime systems, control or decision support platforms, with applicability in military operations and/or in support of civil emergency operations.

Congratulations to Major Luís Marques for reaching the 1st place in this prestigious award, as well as the supervisors Dr. Pedro Vaz and Prof. Alberto Vale (IPFN and DEEC).

Elsevier Poster Award - C2TN at the 24th International Conference on Ion Beam Analysis

During the 24th International Conference on Ion Beam Analysis, held in Antibes, France, from the 13th to the 18th of October 2019, the C2TN researcher Ulrich Wahl won one of the Elsevier poster award for the contribution entitled "Lattice location of Be and Mg in GaN: Exploring the acceptor doping limits".

Young Biophysicist Poster Award - C2TN at NOVABiophysica

During the 1st International Conference NOVABiophysica, held in Lisbon, from 4 to 6 September 2019, the poster entitled "Pre-clinical evaluation of 64CuCl2 as a theranostic agent in 3D cell models" presented by Catarina Pinto, a master student supervised by C2TN researchers, received the Young Biophysicist Poster Award of the Conference.

EU Sustainable Energy Award for ClimACT Project

The ClimACT project coordinated by C2TN researcher Marta Almeida was awarded in the Youth Category of the EU Sustainable Energy Awards. The EU Sustainable Energy Awards' competition recognises the year's top sustainable energy projects in the categories of Engagement, Leadership, Innovation and Youth.

Honorable mention from "Academia Electrão" for the project “RECUPINOV"

academiaelectrao logoThe project “RECUPINOV - RECUPeração de metais críticos a partir de REEE através de processos INOVadores, limpos e amigos do ambiente” submitted by colleagues Bernardo Monteiro, Leonor Maria and João Paulo Leal from QEf group has earned an honorable mention in the category of technological aspect (Reciclagem Electrão) of the 1st Edition of Academia Electrão promoted by Amb3E - Portuguese Waste Management Association and manager of the Electrão - Waste Management Association network (https://www.electrao.pt/?lang=en).
The respective prizes will be presented at a public ceremony on the 26th of September in a place yet to be defined by the promoter.
