The EU-funded RADOV project aims to use high-energy radiation from electron accelerators to produce bioactive peptides derived from egg proteins. Using electron beam irradiation, it will design and develop two new products containing bioactive proteins/peptides. This will be done to broaden the applications of ionizing radiation and to demonstrate the wide range of its uses. The products are peptide-laden antimicrobial/antioxidant hydrogel wound dressings and peptide-grafted active food packaging film.
