The ARSENIX Project, titled “Portuguese Rice Fields as a Laboratory Model for Water Decontamination Using Iron Chelation-Type Nanoparticles,” has been awarded funding in the latest call of the FCT – Exploratory Projects. ARSENIX aims to investigate the release of toxic metals, particularly arsenic, into water systems during rice cultivation. More information, here.
The project is led by C2TN, with contributions from 3 Research Groups and funding from FCT. It also involves collaboration with researchers from the University of Messina and the University of Sassari in Italy.
