A team from C2TN, led by Sandra Rabaça, and CeFEMa, coordinated by Diogo Santos, is developing new organic electroactive materials (OEMs) for high-performance, low-cost batteries. The project focuses on tetrathiafulvalene (TTF) derivatives as organic electrodes, offering a more sustainable alternative to current inorganic materials, particularly when combined with aqueous electrolytes, which enhance safety and reduce costs. This research supports the European Union’s energy technology goals and advances in electric mobility.
