Course “Radionuclides and Innovative Radiopharmaceuticals”

Researchers from C2TN organized the course “Radionuclides and Innovative Radiopharmaceuticals” within the scope of the ENEN2plus project, funded by the EURATOM Research and Training Program.

The course brought together national and international experts in C2TN who presented lectures on prominent topics in Radiopharmaceutical Sciences, such as radionuclide production, radiolabeling chemistry, in silico approaches, methods for preclinical studies with cellular and animal models and applications of radiopharmaceuticals. The course also included several laboratory sessions to demonstrate the different steps involved in the synthesis and evaluation of a potential radiopharmaceutical.

Furthermore, the participants visited the facilities of the Institute of Nuclear Sciences Applied to Health (ICNAS, in Coimbra), which is the leading institution in Portugal in the production of medical radionuclides and radiopharmaceuticals.
